Dear Members and Friends:
It’s the time of year when we kick off our Annual Appeal that allows us to keep supporting wildlife and natural habitats in northern Virginia. Last year, as detailed in our Annual Report, we welcomed large numbers of new volunteers, young people, and citizen scientists to our programs, and we added many properties to Audubon at Home’s Wildlife Sanctuary Program.
But we aren’t resting on our laurels, and we’re asking you to help us with a generous donation so that we can continue to provide our volunteers and communities with positive and hope-affirming ways that they can make a difference in saving local biodiversity. We are looking forward to what we can accomplish in fiscal year 2024, through our traditional advocacy, education, and Audubon at Home programs and our new Stretch Our Parks initiative where
we’re using citizen science and our conservation know-how to improve conditions for some of our most vulnerable species;
we’re increasing community engagement, working with community partners to provide more nature outings and educational programs; and
we’re using partnerships with neighborhoods, homeowners, local organizations and parks to create and extend wildlife habitat.
The success of all these efforts will depend on our members’ and friends’ generous financial support, their volunteer spirit, and their great ideas! We thank you in advance for your generous support, either a one-time gift or monthly donation. Together we can make a positive difference for the local birds and natural environments that we all cherish!
