Empowering Laity in New Ways

The Conference Lay Ministry Team has been on a path to empower and equip laity in ways that are relevant to them today. There was a growing realization of a need for a different approach to support laity better. The focus has been creating courses that are easy to access, filled with practical and up-to-date content, culturally sensitive, and led by knowledgeable instructors and included launching Absorb, our on-demand learning platform, earlier this year. Resources for Native American Heritage Month
During the month of November, many communities will offer opportunities to observe and honor Native American Heritage Month. One way local churches can participate in Native American Heritage Month is by lifting up the voices of Native Peoples in worship services. UMC Discipleship has liturgical resources written by United Methodists from different Native American tribal affiliations. Consider how you might use these prayers in worship this month and throughout the year.
