Looking Back on 2023 National Disability Employment Awareness Month and the Lex Frieden Employment Awards

The Lex Frieden Employment Awards ? HireAbility Employer Forum (LFEA-HAEF) was held October 26, 2023 in Edinburg, Texas. Co-sponsors of the Forum were the Governor?s Committee on People with Disabilities (GCPD [ [link removed] ]) and the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC [ [link removed] ]). The Disability Chamber of Commerce ? RGV [ [link removed] ] graciously hosted this year?s event.

Forum attendees heard from many great speakers, including Governor Abbott, TWC Commissioners, and Edinburg Mayor Ramiro Garza. RJ Mitte, an actor with cerebral palsy best known for his role in "Breaking Bad," was the keynote speaker. Closing out the awards was the eponymous Lex Frieden, who encourages all to continue this important work.
