In case you haven’t been following, Republican Senator Tommy Tuberville
from Alabama has single-handedly blocked hundreds of military promotions —
for months.

He’s sacrificing our country’s defense — all for a partisan stunt.

Tuberville is blocking well-earned, normally nonpartisan promotions of
officers across all branches of our military in protest of the Department
of Defense’s policy about abortion.

John, as a former
chair of the House Intelligence Committee, I often received classified
briefings about intelligence that would put those who swore an oath to
defend our Constitution in uniform in harm’s way.

The brave servicemembers who put their lives on the line in service of our
country should not be pawns in Tuberville’s partisan stunt.

It’s a disgrace, and it’s time to hold him accountable.

Democrats in the Senate are taking action to lift Tuberville’s hold on
these promotions — and I would proudly vote to do the same.
