I’m outraged when I think about the fact that a child is being hurt right now. It’s infuriating. I want to scream out the window next to me: “Children are being trafficked! We have to do something!” And not just something, but something that changes things. When it comes to changing the world in audacious ways, your outrage does matter.
I know that we can demand a different world and make it a reality because it’s happened before.
Only in recent history have people in this country agreed that one water fountain is enough and that women should vote and open their own bank accounts. It feels like yesterday to me that people were smoking on airplanes and tossing trash out the car window. When people came together and took action, mindsets in society shifted and we did better. We need to do the same when it comes to ending child trafficking. Collectively, we have to mature in our mindsets.
We must take action until the world no longer stands for this injustice.
