Women's History Month

Empowered Minds

John,

This week we celebrate brilliant women and the power of education.

Many of the world's foremost thinkers, scientists, inventors, writers, and leaders have been women. Step aside, Einstein!

If you need more proof, look no further than our Live Your Dream Awards recipients.

Many of our award recipients have gone on to do brilliant things—completing higher education degrees, growing as leaders of their industry, becoming teachers, and even starting their own businesses and nonprofits.

But their paths weren't easy. Research shows that a lack of education is the number one indicator of poverty for women worldwide. The barriers to getting an education are complex, socio-cultural, and financial.

That's why we invest in women's education through the Live Your Dream Awards ([link removed] ) .

Education leads to economic empowerment, which allows women to reach their full potential.

Meet Our Valiant Women

Sara B. ([link removed] ) is an incredible woman and mother who recently graduated with her bachelor’s degree in elementary special education, thanks to the Live Your Dream Awards. She is becoming a teacher and plans to obtain a PhD so that she can improve her state's public schools.

As an Iraqi refugee and survivor of domestic violence, Sara is keenly aware of the importance of education and wants to advocate for better opportunities for all!

Tyra Wright ([link removed] ) is a survivor who, after receiving a Live Your Dream Award, went on to start her own nonprofit called the Women's Solo Project, Inc.

Her organization works with local colleges to provide trainings in prevention of domestic violence, and is helping women gain back their lives with independence and self-sufficiency.
