Dear
John,
Two weeks from today we'll gather to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Russell Kirk's landmark book, The Conservative Mind, in Washington, D.C. ([link removed]) I'm delighted to announce that Christina Lambert will be joining our panel of emerging conservative thinkers for this event.
Lambert (Ph.D., Baylor University) is an Assistant Professor of English at Hillsdale College, where she teaches American literature and great books courses. Her current book project explores the intersection of food imagery and eucharistic theology in the poetry and drama of T. S. Eliot and Denise Levertov. Her work has been published by Christianity & Literature, Tulsa Studies in Women's Literature, and Modern Fiction Studies. She received a Weaver Fellowship in 2022/23, and she was recently awarded The Fathman Young Scholar Award by The International T. S. Eliot Society.
As a young scholar at one of our nation's traditional liberal arts colleges, Christina has her finger on the pulse of the next generation. Like Dr. Kirk, she shares a deep affection for the permanent things as expressed through the writing of T. S. Eliot and she's introducing the rising generation to the great treasures of our cultural heritage. Christina will be a fantastic addition to our panel and I know it will be pleasure for many of our guests to hear from her for the first time.
The digital invitation and more details (tickets are $50; $25 for students) can be found on our website ([link removed]) . Feel free to share the link with friends in the D.C. area or those who might be interested in your circles.
I look forward to reconnecting with many old friends in Washington, D.C. next month, and to working alongside these young conservatives to point our movement back to its historic roots, even as we embrace prudent change.
Best regards,
Jeffrey O. Nelson, Ph.D.
Executive Director & CEO
