Folks, have you heard about crisis pregnancy centers?

In post- Roe America, these centers are oftentimes the only resource available to people living in Republican-led states — including many within Groundwork’s target regions — but they’re not the type of resource you think they are:

Taxpayers (the majority of whom support abortion access) are helping fund these centers that run under the guise of being a resource for reproductive care, but these centers actually pressure people to not end their pregnancies.

Not only that, but in our target state, Oklahoma, The Oklahoman reported that the state-funded crisis pregnancy nonprofit spent more on salaries than aid and severely overestimated the number of people they pledged to “help.”

We need abortion care — REAL abortion care — to be accessible no matter your zip code. That’s why it’s so important we invest in local abortion rights groups who are rallying for safe, legal abortion care across the country so that no one has to rely on shady crisis pregnancy centers that are ultimately working against us.
