Dear Friend,
As you probably know, every other year, the U.N. holds global talks on tobacco control. It’s a critical venue to advance our shared campaign to hold Big Tobacco accountable and liable for its deadly products.
So it is with a heavy heart that I share the news that the global tobacco treaty talks, set to take place in Panama City starting today, November 20th, were postponed due to concerns about the safety of participants due to the current political situation in Panama1. So far, the U.N. has only shared that they plan to reschedule the talks for early 2024.
The meeting may be delayed, but our push to make Big Tobacco pay for its abuses is more urgent than ever.
That’s why we’ve launched www.MakeBigTobaccoPay.org, as a home for urgent actions and resources on our campaign. Sign the petition to make Big Tobacco Pay now.
