John,

Ready for #STRIKESGIVING!

Workers at Sky Harbor Airport employed by SSP America are going to walk out on strike if they still don't have a fair contract and resolutions to the multiple open Unfair Labor Practice charges.

📅Tuesday, November 21st through Thanksgiving

🕐5:00 AM to 10:00 PM

📍Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport, Terminal 3, Level 1

These workers are represented by UNITE HERE Local 11, the hospitality workers union that also represents members in Southern California. SSP America is a subcontractor with the City of Phoenix and employs over 400 workers at Sky Harbor Airport. These workers include cashiers, cooks, dishwashers, bartenders, servers, and baristas at well-known establishments such as Matt’s Big Breakfast, Dunkin’ Donuts, Four Peaks Brewing Co., and Pita Jungle. In a recent study of airport workers at Sky Harbor, including SSP America workers, over 50% expressed worrying about eviction due to an inability to afford rent or mortgage payments. Similarly, 50% have run out of food and haven’t been able to afford more.
