After years of struggling with mental health and eating disorders, I was finally feeling a sense of security — finally in control of my life, my career, and my future. Abortion providers are so often taking care of people like me, who are terrified of being judged and losing control of their futures. They respond with expert care and compassion — and they do all of this at personal risk.
Despite attempts to shame and stigmatize their work, abortion providers still walk through the doors of their health centers every day and continue to provide care. When the federal government tries to censor them with a gag rule, abortion providers bravely reject funding rather than sacrifice their patients' health and rights. They are fighting an uphill battle every day, and they're fighting it for us.
