Hi John — It’s Eve, Adam’s wife.
Right now, we are all making final arrangements for Thanksgiving, but I wanted to check in with you before the holiday.
As families all across America prepare to gather around the table, I’ve been taking some time to reflect on the many many ways I am grateful this year.
I am deeply grateful for our family. I am grateful for the times we have together, that my kids enjoy each other’s company (it wasn’t always that way), and that Adam has been such a good husband and father.
It’s holidays like these that remind me of the impact that family can have and how fortunate I have been.
And this Thanksgiving, I’m also grateful for the support you have given Adam and me throughout the last several trying years — through all of the hate and jeers, you have had our backs and I’m so appreciative. And I can’t thank you enough for helping Adam through all of the challenges he’s faced since launching his campaign.
We watched as he investigated Trump. And we watched as he led the impeachment trial against him. We watched his work holding people accountable on the January 6th Committee. And how mercilessly he was attacked.
Republicans weaponized their majority to censure Adam because they knew he was effective. They knew that he would stop at nothing to defend our country and uphold our democratic principles.
But Adam was successful in overcoming these attacks. And if he wins this Senate seat, it will also allow him to be an even more powerful defender of our democracy and its institutions.
Because this isn’t about any of the people attacking him. This is about the vision Adam has for the future of California and the vision that I know you share. Where truth, justice, and decency matter. And the oath of office means something.
Our family shares the conviction that our country is filled with promise, and that our democracy is precious. And fragile. Adam has been on the frontlines, protecting it. He always will be. And you have always been by his side. I am so grateful for that.
