In response to the maternal mortality rates in Sierra Leone, MSF is expanding access to maternal care by staffing local hospitals, running ambulances, and providing medical services entirely free of charge. In just the first seven months of this year, staff members in Sierra Leone helped 3,326 women deliver their babies, including 505 by emergency Caesarean section.
