Friend,
Did you tune into the GOP fight
club this week? You better believe I did. McCarthy is schoolyard
bullying former allies in the hallways of Congress. And Markwayne
Mullin tried to throw down during a Senate hearing.
Embarrassing for them. Hilarious
for everyone watching at home.
Now, as much entertainment and
sheer joy I’m getting from watching the clown caucus descend into
violent mayhem, there’s an important takeaway that will impact the
2024 election.
The GOP, with all its crazed infighting and
pseudo-masculine posturing, continues to prove that they have no
mandate and no desire to govern this country.
None.
The majority of the voting public
is smart. They know MAGA is just here to burn it all down. While GOP
members of Congress auditioned for WWE and the fake presidential
candidates sleepwalked through that boring and low-energy debate,
President Biden showed the country what real leadership looks
like.
He stood next to President Xi and
called him a dictator. He didn't quote them like Trump. He stood up
for American values.
It wasn’t just words, it was action.
Remember how the Dear Leader dealt
with dictators? Romantic courtship, not leadership. Private hours-long
talks with Putin and love letters to Kim Jong Un. All those murderous
thugs had to do was compliment the man’s hair dye and they had his
favor.
Folks, this is the contrast we talk
about time and time again here at The Lincoln Project. Voters want a
leader who will stand up for the values that make our country great.
Trump’s kowtowing and weak leadership on the world stage is an
electoral weakness for him. It’s an advantage for us.
He’s been out of the White House
for three long and wonderful years, so it’s our job to remind voters
of that fact. Trump and his gang of sycophants can play tough, but we
all know that on the world stage, they’re completely morally
bankrupt.
The contrast is clear. President Biden continues to prove
it every week of his presidency. We just need to deliver the message.
And we need your help to do it.
We’ve
got a little over a month left in 2023, and I want to push hard to
maximize the message over this final stretch. Can you pitch in to
support that work?
