Ever since I became a parent, my responsibility has been to help Haley grow. I taught her her first words, how to ride a bike, and what meaningful public service looks like.

But over the years, there’s so much that Haley has taught me.

Watching her be the fierce leader of MI-11 that she is makes me so proud. I’ve supported her since she told me her initial plans to run for Congress, and I’ll continue to support her through all of her endeavors.

I’m humbled to say that it’s because of Haley that I am an elected official, too.

That’s right: I’m honored to be one of Michigan’s precinct delegates — making sure that Democratic voters’ concerns are shared with the state party and leadership.

I’m doing my part in making sure that our democracy functions, and I get to work in the same space as my daughter to make a difference in the place we call home. It’s a win-win!
