John,
While historically seen as a Republican stronghold, Texas has shown itself to be a state in transition. Over the last few election cycles, Republicans have lost some ground in key races. For example, after winning election in 2012, Sen. Ted Cruz was narrowly reelected in 2018 by a margin of 2.6 percentage points.
As 2024 approaches, we expect this trend to continue, which is why we’re happy to announce today: ⬇️
COURIER is coming to the Lone Star State!
And it couldn’t come at a more urgent time. As Texas Republicans continue to mount attacks on reproductive rights, education, and democracy itself, COURIER is in a unique position to inform and engage Texas voters with the news they need to know.
As we work to open our TX newsroom, there’s one small detail we need to finalize. We need a name for our newest newsroom.
That’s where you come in, John. Can you help support our mission of providing accessible, fact-based journalism by helping us name our Texas newsroom?
Our network of newsrooms in nine (now soon to be ten!) key battleground states are committed to neutralizing misinformation in the spaces where it typically thrives by delivering quality reporting to the communities that need it the most.
But opening a newsroom isn’t easy. It takes time and resources to hire journalists and build a network of readers. However, before we do any of this, our newsroom will need a recognizable name. That’s why we’re asking: Will you share your thoughts on what we should name our TX newsroom?
Thank you for sharing!
More to come,
— COURIER
