We know Unilever gets some of its palm oil from a supplier in Indonesia – Astra Agro Lestari. AAL is linked to land-grabbing, operating without legal permits and polluting rivers that provide water to local communities.
People in these communities are being intimidated, criminalised and even imprisoned. Brothers Gusman and Sudi face at least 2 years in prison for harvesting palm oil fruit on their family’s land. Land that was stolen by AAL for palm oil production.
Unilever claims to be driven by making sustainable living commonplace. Join us in telling Unilever to make this a reality in its supply chains. Starting by cutting ties with AAL and repairing the harm inflicted on local people.
Please sign the petition. Tell Unilever you don’t want goods tainted by human rights abuses and environmental destruction.
