This time of year can be very difficult for some rural families, so we're writing with a simple ask:
Can you spare $11 to donate to Feeding America before Thanksgiving next week? [[link removed]]
Did you know that food insecurity is more common in rural areas than in urban areas? Last year, 9 of the 10 counties with the highest rates of food insecurity were rural and, nationally, 16% of all rural households were food insecure.
Feeding America helps families struggling with hunger no matter where they live. Their unique mobile pantries navigate along winding back roads, across marshlands or prairies, and bring food assistance to hungry families regardless of how far they have to drive.
As we gather with our families and friends to celebrate Thanksgiving, this is the perfect time to give back to our communities and chip in whatever we can, to support rural Americans who are struggling to make ends meet. [[link removed]]

Along with mobile pantries, Feeding America guides families through the cumbersome process of applying for federal assistance programs like SNAP, WIC, a program specifically for women, infants, and children, and other programs to help folks get on their feet and live lives with dignity.
As Feeding America says, it seems impossible, but in lands of plenty, hunger pains can be the sharpest.
Thanks for joining me in giving what you can to this important cause. [[link removed]]
