John,
My son, Uzi, was my greatest inspiration.
He always wanted to put a smile on your face. He’d go out of his way to make you smile and laugh — to make you forget your pain.
Since I lost Uzi, it’s hard to forget the pain. There are no good days anymore.
On May 24, 2022, Uzi died at Robb Elementary School. He was one of the 21 people who lost their lives in Uvalde, Texas on that horrifying day — forever fracturing my community and my family.
There’s no doubt that the days since Uzi’s death have been the hardest of my life.
But they would have been harder without Roland Gutierrez standing at my side, fighting to do everything in his power to end gun violence in Texas.
That’s why I’m supporting Roland in his campaign to defeat Ted Cruz and become Texas’s next U.S. Senator. I’d be grateful if you could join me in supporting Roland with a contribution of $10, $15, or whatever you can spare. >>
When no one else had our back, Roland did.
When powerful men wanted the world to look away, Roland kept the spotlight on my community and the pain that Texas’s loose gun laws caused.
Meanwhile, the only things Ted Cruz had to offer were lip-service, gaslighting, and silence.
Ted Cruz wasn’t brave enough to meet with families like mine, because he knows his refusal to help get the guns off our streets is killing our children.
But as long as I’ve got a breath in my body, I’ll be fighting for our kids and every other kid out there who’s forced to live under this gun violence epidemic.
And I’ll be fighting for Roland, too — because he fought for us.
So please, can you join me in supporting Roland’s campaign today with a contribution of $10 or more? There’s so much at stake in this election, but I know we have what it takes to win if we stand together. >>
