Find Food Assistance for the Holiday Season
If you or your family need help putting food on the table for Thanksgiving, throughout the holidays, or beyond, the following organizations have resources to help you find food pantries and other assistance in your area. If you are not in need of food assistance, consider donating food or other resources.

If you are having trouble paying your home energy bills, you may be eligible to avoid disconnection through the Winter Termination Program. Until March 15th, 2024, people unable to pay their home energy bills due to circumstances beyond their control and people receiving certain types of public assistance can receive forbearance by contacting their utility company.
Individuals or families experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness can contact their county social service agency for assistance. After business hours, call 2-1-1 or visit NJ211.org.

Need health insurance? Find quality, affordable health coverage today! Compare 2024 plans with the Get Covered New Jersey Shop and Compare tool and find out if you are eligible for financial help in just a few minutes. All you need is your zip code, birth date, and income.
Nine in 10 people who enroll through Get Covered New Jersey qualify for financial assistance with health insurance premiums, and many pay $10 per month or less.
Open enrollment is the one time of year anyone can shop for a plan, so residents should view their options now.
The Open Enrollment Period for 2024 coverage at Get Covered New Jersey will run until January 31st, 2024. Consumers must enroll by December 31st, 2023 for coverage starting January 1st, 2024; if they enroll by January 31st, 2024, coverage will begin February 1st, 2024.

Fall is in the Air? So Are Respiratory Viruses
Cold and flu season is upon us. New Jerseyans are encouraged to take precautions to keep themselves and their loved ones healthy.
Basic strategies to prevent the spread of viruses include staying up to date on your vaccinations, washing your hands often, coughing or sneezing into your elbow, and staying home if you're feeling or are sick.
Check with your health care provider to learn how best to protect yourself and your family from the flu, COVID-19, and RSV, especially if you have a weakened immune system.
