Tutuwas born on a factory farm — destined to be killed at four months for someone’s Thanksgiving dinner. Thankfully, she was first saved by a student artist, then by Wild Bird Fund when the student’s New York City school wouldn’t allow a bird in her studio.
At Farm Sanctuary, she’ll never need to find a safe landing again.
Our specialized care has helped Tutu heal from trauma sustained on the factory farm and as a victim of the “debeaking” and “detoeing.”
Tutu is now over four years old — an anomaly for turkeys bred for meat production — and thriving. She has blossomed into a friendly and inquisitive bird with a well-deserved nickname, “The Charmer.”
With help from our supporters, we can give other rescued animals a second chance. Because no matter how bad things look for animals in need, there’s always hope.
When you symbolically adopt Tutu with a one-time $35 gift, you’ll help provide her with specialized lifelong care and support our advocacy work to help end the suffering of turkeys everywhere.
In thanks, we’ll send you an adoption certificate — your choice of digital or print (shown below) — featuring beautiful photos of Tutu and her rescue story.
Give this year’s card a spot of honor on your holiday table to show you love turkeys. Or send “The Charmer” of the flock to your friends to inspire a kinder holiday season.
Stories of factory farm survivors like Tutu make us grateful we can offer sanctuary. Thank you for helping us save lives and considering our tradition that’s kind to all.
