A little over two months ago, I sent you this email announcing my re-election campaign. But my team is telling me that you haven’t yet chipped in to become a Founding Member.

Since I announced my campaign for re-election, extreme MAGA Republicans have thrown the House into chaos. These Republicans have no capacity to govern – so it’s time to vote them out and elect Democrats who share your values.

Republicans keep showing us that they are too extreme to lead. They simply don't believe in a public role to make a difference in the lives of every day Americans.

Democrats are proud to be a union-strong party. President Joe Biden promised to rebuild America from the bottom up and the middle-class out — and Democrats delivered, with millions of jobs and billions in resources.

2023 has been the Year of the Union Worker! From farm workers to auto workers to actors, writers and creators, to fast food workers to healthcare workers, and teachers — workers have been on the picket lines and at the bargaining tables to build power for working families.

We prevailed despite extreme Republicans who attack reproductive freedoms, undermine voting rights, scapegoat immigrants, attack trans youth, sabotage lower drug prices and climate action, and target Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid to give obscene tax cuts to the rich.

We passed gun safety laws — but must do more: we must carry on the work of our late Senator Dianne Feinstein — whose career was forged by the assassinations of George Moscone and Harvey Milk — to honor all victims killed by gun violence with an Assault Weapons Ban.

Democrats are where the American people are – focused on solutions to the kitchen table concerns of families. And the American people want a budget that protects our seniors, values America’s working families and creates opportunity for all.

The contrast could not be clearer: Democrats are working to cut costs while Republicans are working to cut vital programs and benefits that our seniors count on – so they can shovel more tax breaks to their wealthy Republican donors.

Know that Democrats will always put People Over Politics; we’ll always fight to protect and expand health care and to lower costs for every day Americans; and we’ll always fight to defend our Democracy.

And when we fight – together – we win!

That is why I’m marshaling a GROUNDSWELL of support – 5,000 grassroots Democrats – to unite against Republicans’ chaos caucus, take a stand for our Democracy, and RESTORE the House safely to Democratic hands to do the people’s business.
