Dear John,
I’m pretty sure that if you are paying attention to politics, you know by now that U.S. House Representative George Santos is a demonstrated liar who does not belong in Congress.
He’s been indicted for 23 felonies ranging from wire fraud and false statements on legal forms and Federal Elections Commission filings to theft of public money.
Now, just yesterday, the House Ethics Committee released a 54-page report claiming there is “clear evidence” Rep. Santos committed serious crimes. The report found that Santos “blatantly stole from his campaign” and “deceived donors into providing what they thought were contributions to his campaign but were in fact payments for his personal benefit.”
Santos has already survived two attempts to expel him from Congress, in part because many representatives wanted to wait for the Ethics Committee report, including every member of the committee itself.
Today, House Ethics Chair Republican Rep. Michael Guest officially introduced a new resolution to expel Rep. Santos, and for the first time since Republicans took control of the House last January, it looks like it just might happen.
We need to use this moment to show Congress the incredible groundswell of Americans nationwide who support removing Rep. George Santos from office. Please sign on the campaign now.
The report was as scathing as it was detailed.
According to the report, Santos misdirected campaign funds for personal expenses like Botox, designer fashion, OnlyFans, and lavish trips; lied about his own personal wealth and work history; and was personally involved in the illegal flow of campaign funds and cover-ups.
The report concluded that Rep. Santos is “beneath the dignity of the office” and has “brought severe discredit upon the House.”
The American people deserve much more than representation by someone who prioritizes corruption, deception, and complete disregard for the rule of law.
The U.S. House must act to expel George Santos immediately. Please join the call to action by adding your name now.
