Outstanding - Ep. 48: Life in the Aftermath of 2023 |
Podcast with Joseph Backholm, Katherine Beck Johnson and Mary Szoch |
After the passing of Ohio's Issue One, which made abortion legal for all nine months of pregnancy, many pro-lifers are wondering what the next steps of the movement should be. Host Joseph Backholm is joined by FRC's Katherine Beck Johnson and Mary Szoch, both mothers and pro-life advocates. After the overturn of Roe v. Wade, the issue of abortion was given back to the states and while many thought that the biggest hurdle in the fight for life has been conquered, it seems that the battle is just beginning. These three dissect the "how" behind the passing of Issue One, the importance of pro-life messaging, and the impact the sexual revolution has had on the view of abortion. Katherine and Mary both share how their stories of miscarriage impact their fight for life and remind listeners that an unborn child is not a human based on if the parents feel like it, but is a human, designed with intentionality and dignity no matter what anyone says or feels! |

RNC Chair: If Republicans Want to Win, 'We Can't Be Silent on Life' |
by Suzanne Bowdey |
After last Tuesday's dismal GOP election results, everyone is looking for a Republican to blame. The usual target is not always the right one, as Vivek Ramaswamy's crusade against RNC Chair Ronna McDaniel shows. She's a "losing leader," he's insisted over the last several days, even starting a petition to oust the recently reelected party boss. "Where is the accountability for years of losing?" the young entrepreneur wanted to know. Frankly it belongs here: with conservatives who refuse to fight for conservative values. |

Left-Wing Anti-Semitic Crowd Targets DNC, Provokes Capitol Police Response |
by Joshua Arnold |
U.S. Capitol Police responded Wednesday night as "approximately 150 people" were "illegally and violently protesting" at the headquarters for the Democratic National Committee (DNC). The group of left-wing demonstrators disrupted a Democratic campaign event by chanting pro-Hamas slogans such as "ceasefire now" outside the building, then refused police instructions to relocate away from the building. The incident continues a trend of left-wing, anti-Semitic protests expressing anger at Democratic support for Israel and crossing the line between protected speech and violence. |

A Tale of Two Athletes |
by Jacob Kersey |
Professional sports have a way of testing the character, mental toughness, and, yes, faith of athletes and coaches alike. To the ones on the field giving it their all, the testing only intensifies when things out of their control, like a game ending injury or bad play, occur. Jobs are on the line as eager backups look on from the sidelines. A bad performance or an injury can cost a player their starting position or possibly even their career. In the world of sports, foundations are tested and character is revealed. |
