Every year, it surprises me just how hard I find the transition out of Daylight Savings Time. You’d think I’d be accustomed to it by now! But I’m not and I never will be. Katie Bingham-Smith and her kids are the same way: “We all struggle with the seasonal blues. I experienced it as a child, and I had no idea what it was. I had less energy and couldn’t socialize as much as usual because I got so moody. While I do love a good excuse to go to bed as early as I want and wear nothing but sweaters and sweats, seasonal affective disorder is a very real thing in my family.” So I’m revisiting her piece, which is all about how she gets her kids (and herself) through this sunlight-starved time. I hope it helps you, too. Kelly Faircloth, Executive Editor |
