Praying for Oconee Sheriff's Office

Please join me in praying for a Corporal Lucas Watts who was shot in Oconee county, his family, and all the staff at the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office. This is a sad reminder about the sacrifices our first responders are willing to make every single day to keep our community safe.

On Thursday, the deputy was conducting a traffic stop when the suspect fled before shots were fired and the officer was hit. He was transported to the hospital for emergency surgery.

Voting No on CRs that Fund Woke Policies

On Tuesday, I voted NO on the Continuing Resolution (CR) that House Leadership introduced to avoid shutting down the government. This CR has ZERO cuts, ZERO programs eliminated, and ZERO reforms.

This horrible CR continues the status quo of funding Joe Biden’s failed policies that hurt everyday Americans. If we ever are going to make massive cuts to the budget and reckless spending, then conservatives in the House must stand up and fight for real results—not roll over.

I’m disappointed that my colleagues chose to continue funding Joe Biden’s woke, radical policies through this CR. Don’t listen to Members of the House or news outlets who tell you that voting for the CR was the only option.

Our fiscal policy is so important to me and is so vital to future generations that I was willing to shut down the government to get our spending under control. We need more fighters in Congress who unashamedly will stand up for Americans.

I voted NO on this CR just like I've voted NO on countless CRs, omnibus and minibus spending packages through the years!

Voting YES to Impeach Mayorkas

On Monday, I went to the Floor of the House to vote to impeach Sec. Mayorkas for allowing an invasion at the southern border. Since Joe Biden has taken office, over 6.2 million illegal border crossings occurred at just the southern border.

Mayorkas failed to safeguard America and his inaction has resulted in countless murders, children violently raped by illegal aliens, and deadly fentanyl being trafficked across our border by Mexican cartels.

Unfortunately, some Republicans joined Democrats to table the motion to impeach Mayorkas.

Biden Rolls Out the Red Carpet for China

Ahead of Joe Biden's meeting with Xi Jinping, California and the Biden Administration tried to put lipstick on a pig in San Francisco to cover up for failed policies that have led to crime, drug use, homelessness, and feces on the streets.

California makes horrible economic and energy policies that result in widespread homelessness and blackouts across the State. Rational people have called on California to address their rampant homelessness which has become a major public safety crisis.

Before Joe Biden met with China’s Xi Jinping, San Francisco started a “beautification project” to impress the Chinese Communist Party. Why is California more worried about using window dressing to impress the CCP instead of focusing on economic policies that help Americans? The reason is Joe Biden and Gavin Newsom are pushing a radical green agenda that sells out America to China by weakening our energy policy and national security.

President Xi and the Chinese Communist Party flew a spy balloon all the way across America while Joe Biden hid in the basement of the White House.

While the CCP surveils America, promulgates anti-American hate and surveils private data of Americans via TikTok, and profits off Biden’s rush-to-green policies, Joe Biden goes and sits down with Xi to find out what’s left on the CCP’s wish list.

Mr. President, it’s time you get tough on China or resign.

While Joe Biden plays into China's hands, House Republicans are working to beat China and become energy independent. The Energy & Commerce
Committee is not afraid to be tough on China and is actively passing and promoting legislation that puts American interests first—not the interests of the Chinese Communist Party.

Stop Allowing Kill Switches

In 2021, Democrats pushed through the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. Hidden away in the bill was a provision to require a kill switch to be placed into all vehicles built after 2026.

While Democrats claim this kill switch is only to be used for stopping a supposed drunk driver, we know how many times the government has abused it's power to target citizens illegally, and especially to target conservatives.

It’s repugnant that some Republicans and Democrats think it’s ok for the Government to mandate a kill switch that can shut down your personal vehicle at any time.

The Democrats accuse conservatives of being fearmongers and claim that radicals are not trying to create an Orwellian world. Yet here they are ensuring they have full control to monitor you in your car and shut down your vehicle whenever they want.

While I proudly stood with Rep. Thomas Massie to defund this effort, 19 Republicans joined with Democrats to amass more power for the Government.

Stopping the Biden Administration from Decimating Foster Care

The Biden Administration is pushing a new policy that would force foster parents to embrace Trans ideology or remove children from their care. Not only is this an assault on religious liberty and common sense, but it’s also going to result in there being fewer homes available for children.

To address this out-of-touch proposal, on Wednesday, the House passed a commonsense amendment to HR 5894 the Labor, Health, Human Services, and Education Appropriations Act to block this proposed rule entirely.

We have countless children who need a safe home and parental guidance. All children, and especially those in the foster care system, need guardians who can teach them right from wrong. It’s simply wrong to say that someone is unfit to be a foster parent because they will not allow a young child to have a gender transition surgery, but that’s what this rule proposes.

We need to allow foster parents to exercise parental guidance and give good homes to children who need a safe, welcoming, happy home.

Only Two Genders

A deranged trans activist posted a video filled with death threats against anyone who doesn't believe the woke fairytale that you can be any gender you want.

I refuse to comply with the radical left! There are two genders: male and female. You can threaten me all day long, but the number of genders doesn't change. See the disgusting attack here.

Legislative Action

I cosponsored H.R. 6432, Rep. Andrew Ogles’ bill to defund all attempts to force individuals to use preferred pronouns or a name that is not a legally given name.

I cosponsored H.R. 103, Rep. Lloyd Smucker’s bill to voice Congressional disapproval to the Department of Labor's attempts to Update the Davis-Bacon Act.

I cosponsored H.R. 6383, Rep. Ronny Jackson’s bill to ensure Joe Biden and Sec. Mayorkas cannot implement any policies that requires illegal aliens to remain in Texas while waiting for their screening.

I cosponsored H.R. 6344, Rep. Jake LaTurner’s bill to modify the Social Security Act to update language related to do-not-resuscitate orders and order for medical care for unemancipated minors.

I cosponsored H.J.Res. 98, Rep. John James’ bill to voice Congressional disapproval for the rule regarding the "Standard for Determining Join Employer Status" from the National Labor Relations Board.

In the District

The South Carolina Board of Education is working to ensure children can only access age appropriate books in public libraries and schools. This is a vital step to ensuring we let kids be kids, instead of filling their heads with topics like sexual identity, gender, and race.

A student in Newberry, Cashia, is working to solve the massive inflex of stray cats in the area. She created Cat Haven Development which creates "cat motels" for strays to be protected from harsh weather. Cashia is working with The Humane Society to engage the community in the project.

The Foothills Chapter of the SC National Wild Turkey Federation held a thank you event for veterans and their families. The event let families enjoy enjoy the great outdoors through fishing and food. What a great way to thank our veterans and their families for their many sacrifices.
