Right now, in Congress, we’re witnessing what happens when politicians run roughshod over the American people. We came within just days of yet another avoidable government shutdown, threatening the livelihood and security of Americans across the country. While Congress managed to pass another temporary measure to keep the government funded, many support programs could still be paused when the clock on this latest resolution runs out, including those for service members, veterans, and their families.

We find ourselves asking, is this the new normal? Is this all we can expect from public servants sent by voters to do the people's work in Washington?

We can’t accept it — every American deserves better than a democracy where a handful of politicians can hijack the system and hold the country hostage. Join New Politics and tell Congress they need to put the American people over their special interests and sign on →

New Politics knows servant leaders are uniquely qualified to lead teams and bring people together to get things done. Collaboration, humility, problem-solving, integrity and self-sacrifice all qualities servant leaders possess that are badly needed in Congress and our politics right now.

We must demand a higher standard of service for our country and our people, and New Politics is playing a key role in that solution.

You’re here because you know we should expect more from our elected leaders — sign on and help us send Congress that message. [[link removed]]

Thank you,

New Politics--

New Politics supports outstanding military veterans and national service leaders, alumni of programs like AmeriCorps and the Peace Corps, to step up and serve our country again, this time through politics. We were proud to be behind the movement of veterans who ran for office for the first time in 2018, and we have big plans to grow into the future.
