Williams Institute scholars recently submitted several public comments in response to proposed federal regulations. Comments marshalled Williams Institute research to support older LGBTQ Americans and to increase protections from sexual orientation and gender identity discrimination.

** LA County Trans and Nonbinary Survey
------------------------------------------------------------
We have launched the LA County Trans and Nonbinary Survey with our friends at the TransLatin@ Coalition. This survey will help us learn more about the experiences and needs of transgender and nonbinary adults living in LA County. Text "I want to take the survey" to (213) 325-2421 to participate in English or "Quiero realizar la encuesta" to (213) 325-1081 to take it in Spanish.
WILLIAMS IMPACT
On November 3, Williams Institute Distinguished Senior Scholar of Public Policy Ilan Meyer gave the keynote address at the INSIGHT conference in Athens, Greece. INSIGHT is a two-year project funded by the European Union that aims to improve access to healthcare for LGBTI+ individuals by enhancing the knowledge, skills, and attitudes of future healthcare personnel. Ilan presented on minority stress theory, which explains how excessive exposure to stigma and discrimination by sexual minority populations leads to mental and physical health disparities.

** Research Data Analyst
------------------------------------------------------------
The Williams Institute seeks a Research Data Analyst to conduct social science, public health, and public policy research and analysis related to the mission of the Institute. Primary responsibilities include researching, monitoring, and analyzing regulations and legislation; developing & managing project timelines, research materials, and data; developing research protocols and study materials; preparing and administering human subjects protection protocols; managing data collection and analysis; and preparing and assisting in the preparation of written products.
