Team — I’m relieved to say we’ve averted a government shutdown, while also rejecting all of the far-right’s extreme spending cuts.
I’m glad we kept the government open and working for the people, at least for the next month, but let’s be real about this: what Congress just accomplished is, at best, a bare minimum. And I’m in this fight to do more.
I’m here to make life easier for the working families who are struggling. To protect our basic rights like the right to choose, the right to vote, and the right to live openly as who you are. To defend our democracy and protect our planet from the challenges we face.
But it’s clear now that as dysfunctional as the Republican majority is, if we’re going to make real progress — and not simply keep the lights on — we need to retake our Democratic House majority, and put competent leaders in charge.
And we can’t do that unless we hold this seat right here in CO-07. If you believe we need more common sense and less extremism in Congress, will you chip in to support my campaign in this battleground district?

It’s the greatest honor of my life to represent our community in Congress, and I will work with anyone, Democrat or Republican, to make life better for Colorado families.
But we also need to be realistic that the biggest impediment to getting things done in Congress is that the House GOP simply can’t, or won’t, govern. In the last week, we’ve seen more physical fights than we’ve seen serious legislating from Republicans in Congress.
There’s so much more we can do if we put aside the childish games and get serious about helping regular American families — and that’s what our campaign is about. If that’s a fight you’re on board with, I’d be grateful for any support you can provide.
