"Mikie Sherrill Thinks Tommy Tuberville's Abortion Stunt Has Gone on Far Too Long"
— Vanity Fair, 11/09/2023

Tommy Tuberville's antics aren't just a threat to our national security — they're an affront to reproductive rights.

So last week, Mikie introduced the Access to Reproductive Care for Servicemembers Act to ensure our servicewomen are protected, no matter where they're stationed. If you're with Mikie, add your name as a citizen co-sponsor of this vital legislation today.

For over seven months, Senator Tommy Tuberville has single-handedly held up nearly all military promotions because he objects to the Defense Department’s policy that allows servicewomen living in states with abortion bans or restrictions to receive travel assistance so they can access the care they need.

During her service in the Navy, Mikie served in Corpus Christi, Texas — where abortion care has since been eliminated in the wake of the Dobbs decision overturning Roe v. Wade. Without this policy, as Mikie told Vanity Fair, servicewomen seeking urgent reproductive care would have to travel all the way to New Mexico to receive treatment.

Republicans and Democrats, including Mikie, have sounded the alarm about the threat this hold poses to our military readiness. The Secretaries of the Army, Navy, and the Air Force have called Tuberville’s hold “dangerous,” and claimed that it’s endangering our national security.

But Tommy Tuberville’s stunt isn’t just a threat to our national security — it’s an affront to reproductive freedom.

That’s why Mikie recently introduced the Access to Reproductive Care for Servicemembers Act — legislation that would codify the Department of Defense’s policy and guarantee military leave and travel cost reimbursements for servicemembers forced to travel out of state to receive reproductive health care.

Team, with your support, we can show Tommy Tuberville that we’ve had it with his reckless stunt. Please, add your name as a citizen co-sponsor of the Access to Reproductive Care for Servicemembers Act today.
