Tom is leading the effort to stop new uranium mining and clean up the
abandoned uranium mines in Arizona.
Right now, the Navajo Nation is spending countless resources cleaning up the
toxic legacy of uranium mining.17 sites are currently waiting for evaluation
from the federal government. All of these sites rest on tribal lands.
Toxic uranium mining has already taken countless lives, contaminated our
drinking water, affected nearby Native American tribes and increased risks of
cancer. That’s why it’s so important that the federal government provides
our communities with the resources to cleanup these abandoned mines.
Add your name to call for action on Tom's legislation to ban uranium mining
near the Grand Canyon and provide the resources to clean up the toxic legacy of
the past.
