Hi folks, Tammy Baldwin here with an important update on our campaign:
CNN just named my U.S. Senate seat in Wisconsin as one of the top 10 most likely to flip next year.
The GOP spent a whopping $77 million to win last year’s Senate race in Wisconsin, and won by ONE percentage point. It’s clear that they intend to do (and spend) whatever it takes to squeak by again to flip my seat red this time around.
Senate Republicans are looking to recruit candidates with massive personal wealth to jump into the race — including right-wing megamillionaire, Eric Hovde, who said he’d spend $15 to $20 million out of his own pocket to defeat me.
Going up against an opponent with a virtually unlimited campaign warchest would be a tall order. That’s why it’s so important we get to work building the resources it’ll take to fight back against the inevitable flood of GOP attacks and keep this seat blue for Democrats. But I can’t do it without you.
