John,

Massachusetts just made history in the fight for prison phone justice!

Today, Gov. Maura Healey signed a bill making Massachusetts the fifth state to make prison phone calls free statewide, and the first state to include provisions for free calls from county jails.

The passage of this critical legislation sets a national standard for human rights for those who are incarcerated. And as a member of the Keeping Families Connected/No Cost Calls Coalition, Color Of Change will continue to urge other states to follow suit!

A phone call to a loved one from someone behind bars shouldn’t be a luxury expense. We’re committed to organizing for phone justice on the local, state and federal level — and we need your help to power our efforts long term. Pitch in $25 or more to fuel the fight for phone justice!

Make Your Gift

Every person should be able to speak to family and friends without experiencing financial ruin. But predatory practices of prison telecom companies have forced families of more than 1.8 million people incarcerated across the country to pay up to $1 a minute to speak with a loved one.

The fight for phone justice is winnable. Your contribution will help us continue to fight back against companies that profit off of Black pain. With your help, we’ll have the resources we need to inform the public about phone justice, push for legislation that will alleviate the burden on these families and run campaigns to dismantle the carceral industry piece by piece.

John, help us keep up the momentum with a donation of $25 or more today to keep families connected!
