More than 1,000 products containing 2,4-D are sold in the U.S., and residues of this pesticide have been detected in surface and groundwater sources.

But glyphosate is the world’s most widely applied chemical, with farmers using it every day in the US. The EPA was even forced to withdraw its safety determination on glyphosate last year, after a court ruling said the agency ignored advice from scientific advisors.
