BJS announces the release of the Capital Punishment in the United States (NPS-8) 1973?2021 dataset through the National Archive of Criminal Justice Data. The NPS-8 dataset provides annual data on prisoners under a sentence of death, as well as those who had their sentences commuted or vacated and prisoners who were executed. - sociodemographic characteristics of persons under sentence of death (age, sex, race, ethnicity, marital status, and level of education at the time of the capital offense)
