Friend,

With each of you supporting me in your own way in 2022, we kept Illinois' 17th District blue, and made history for our state and our country.

  • You helped elect the first meteorologist to Congress in over 50 years.

  • You gave Illinois its first openly LGBTQ federal representative in our state history.

  • And, most importantly, you gave Northwest and Central Illinois a trusted, homegrown voice in our nation's capital.

But as a freshman Congressman, national Republicans know I'm at my most vulnerable right now. We expect massive spending, and even more vicious attack ads than we saw last year.

Your support will help me cut through the noise and persuade undecided voters that I'm the best candidate for the job.

Remember, I was elected with just 51% of the vote in 2022. In my last race that came down to the wire, GOP super PACs spent over $7.5 million to bolster my opponent.

And last month, national Republicans named their hand-picked candidate who will challenge me here in IL-17 -- Retired Judge Joe McGraw. He's an anti-choice activist who believes that states, not women, should be the ultimate decider on what happens with their body; He calls climate change a "hoax" made up by radical environmentalists; and is a strong supporter of Donald Trump.

Headed into 2024, every major elections analyst -- from the Cook Political Report to Inside Elections -- is calling our race the single most competitive House contest in the state of Illinois, and one that could decide the majority.

We have the grassroots energy. But in order to win we need to run a well-funded and well-communicated campaign -- on the airwaves, in mailboxes, and on voters' doorsteps. That’s where you come in:

Can we count on you for an investment today to defend one of the most competitive house races in the country?

- Eric
