For the first time in decades, Michigan Democrats led our state powerfully after we secured a majority in both state chambers and reelected Governor Whitmer. These Michigan Democrats made history and delivered life-changing legislation for all Michiganders.

That’s a wrap! Take a look at Michigan Democrats’ Historic 2023 Legislative Session: Defended reproductive rights: Repealed harmful abortion restrictions; Lowered costs for the middle class: Repealed the retirement tax, expanded the Working Families Tax Credit, and took the first steps toward universal pre-K; Protected our kids and communities from gun violence: Created background checks and safe storage requirements and passed the Domestic Violence Gun Reform Act; Protected Civil Rights: Expanded the Elliot Larsen Act to protect LGBTQIA+ Michiganders from discrimination, banned conversion therapy, and repealed Right to Work; Improved access to health care and lowered costs: Codified the Affordable Care Act into Michigan law; Created clean energy jobs: Invested in water and road infrastructure projects and expanded clean energy jobs

This was the most productive session in recent history as Michigan Democrats delivered on their campaign promises! 

It’s no surprise that while Michigan Democrats were working hard for their constituents, MAGA extremists were trying to distract, divide, and deceive. We know that next year, they will pull out all the stops to try and rewrite history.
