This Friday, I will be joined by the Schiller Institute's Marcia
Merry Baker and Jason Ross, both of whom recently returned from an
extraordinary conference held in Kabul, Afghanistan titled, “Operation
Ibn Sina: The Coming Afghan Economic Miracle.” The conference, which
brought together over 500 people including participation by officials
from the ministries of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, was
comprised of day-long workshops in eight basic areas: agriculture and
water, health, energy, industry and labor, credit and national
banking, transportation, education, and culture.
We will discuss the forward-looking approach of this war-ravaged
nation as compared to the lack of vision exhibited by the
non-leadership of the United States today. Given the horrific
breakdown of the U.S. economy, there is ample opportunity to employ
the latent talents of our people to develop our nation. Let's start
thinking that way!
