The Object Is To Win

I was perusing the usual assortment of stories this morning about what Israel is doing wrong in prosecuting its war against Hamas when it dawned on me that if Israel played by all the “rules” people seem to think it is supposed to operate under they could never actually win their war.  We have settled way too many wars in my life, rather than fight to victory, to understand, I would have thought, that all such settlement does is prolong the agony since nothing really gets settled, just delayed with a temporary change of tactic.  As I thought about it, I really don’t think people understand how far outside “the rules” Hamas was.

The Democratic Choice

Gavin Newsom, California Governor, and generally considered “next-in-line” for the Democrat nomination, should Biden pull up lame in some fashion, is a real piece of work.  Have you heard the excuses they are making about that freeway-compromising fire?  Newsom sure has rushed to get in front of that train.  Unidentified “bad actors,” hand sanitizer, pallets, broken deals….  But it all rings hollow.
