NAFCU’s Long testifies on ‘unsustainable’ NCUA budget increases ([link removed] )

The NCUA held a public hearing for its proposed 2024-2025 budget Thursday. For 2024, the agency has proposed an increase of 9.5 percent from 2023 and an increase of 9.9 percent from the 2024 proposed budget for 2025. During the hearing, NAFCU Vice President of Research and Chief Economist Curt Long urged the agency to be more efficient.

NCUA Board heeds NAFCU call to expand ‘qualified charity’ definition ([link removed] )

The NCUA Board held its November meeting Thursday where the board unanimously approved a NAFCU-sought final rule that would expand the definition of a qualified charity to include veterans’ organizations as defined by the Internal Revenue Code. The rule will go into effect 30 days after publication in the Federal Register.

The CFPB's Credit Union Advisory Council (CUAC) met Thursday, where senior bureau staff and council members discussed economic conditions and the payments system.
