Fight for $15

John,

On Saturday, we broke the law to make our voices heard just by renting a bus to take people to go vote.

What's illegal about that?! Well, here in Michigan, there's a Republican-backed law that says it's illegal to hire someone to drive people to go vote.

Make no mistake: They don't want me to vote. They want to exclude poor people, and anyone who wants to change the system by exercising our democratic right to vote.

Gas, car payments, insurance, maintenance, god forbid I get a flat tire -- owning a car is too expensive for me -- especially when I make $10.00 an hour. Why shouldn't I be able to catch a ride to go vote?

Well, I protested the law, voted, and am doing everything I can to make sure we don't have more anti-democratic politicians making up the rules for us.

I voted so we get a politician who will stand up for us -- for higher pay, better health insurance, and a voice at work. I risked arrest to demand the presidential candidates support #UnionsForAll. Join me: let them know you'll be thinking about unions when you vote.

That's how important this election is to me.

Voting isn't just a box you check. It's a choice we make to elect a candidate who listens to us. It's a choice we make to be as loud as the billionaire CEOs who don't think about the people that make their food -- who don't think about our worth beyond what they can get from us for minimum wage. It's a chance to break the cycle of exploitation we suffer generation after generation.

We went on strike on Friday and voted on Saturday to demand $15 an hour and union rights at McDonald's. We risked our jobs and we risked arrest to fight for each other.

This movement is how we win changes for all workers: Black, Brown, or white, because we're all in this together.

We're the same movement that won $70 billion for workers in higher wages, and we WILL be the deciding factor of who wins this election.

Demand the candidates support #UnionsForAll, so that we can ALL have a seat at the table and win real change for our communities.
