Hi ,

(Lea este boletín de noticias en español)

We have received reports indicating that all five lanes of the I-10 will be open by next Tuesday, just before Thanksgiving.

This is what happens when we work with urgency. This is what happens when we come together.

Through coordinated action from the state, federal and local efforts – especially the 24/7 work of crews on site, we are on track to open the 10 in days instead of months.
While this is good news, the work doesn’t stop until we completely finish repairs.

City departments will continue to respond with urgency to the impacts of traffic closures during ongoing construction.

We will not let up.

Traffic and Closures

The 10 freeway remains CLOSED in both directions between the East L.A. interchange and Alameda St. until further notice.

With rain in our forecast, I have directed the Department of Transportation to increase the number of white glove traffic officers to help commuters get through intersections faster.

If you have to drive, please remember to take caution on slick roads:
  • Treat all dark or flashing traffic signals as an all-way stop
  • Proceed carefully in intersections
  • Exercise extreme caution on all roads
  • Drive slowly with headlights on and leave extra space between vehicles
It's important for Angelenos to remember that we share the road and local access with emergency responders across the city. Allow extra time to travel.

Planning ahead can save a life.

Metro trains are also increasing the speed of trains and increasing bus service along routes of the freeway closure. Beat the traffic and ride public transportation.

Support for Businesses

Downtown businesses that are impacted by the recent fire can receive remote or in-person assistance from one of ten Los Angeles BusinessSource Centers (BSCs) spread across the City. BSCs can provide free 1:1 consultation, business and employment support, and assistance in applying for forthcoming microenterprise grants and microloans.

Live updates

We continue to mobilize resources.

My team will be giving its fifth daily traffic update at 6:00 am from the Department of Transportation's Traffic Control Center.

The briefing will be provided in English at 6:00 am and in Spanish at 6:20 am.

TUNE IN
I know the last couple of days have been difficult.

This closure affected the daily commute of hundreds of thousands of Angelenos –– thank you for heeding our call to keep traffic flowing around closures, riding public transportation, and standing together during this time of crisis.
