Van Buren area improvements

We?re working to make downtown Oswego even more of a destination for residents and visitors.
The Village recently completed a project that replaced the existing water main on sections of Wilson, Adams and Van Buren streets in the downtown area. The new water main will increase flow to fire hydrants and ensure adequate water pressure for residents and businesses in the area. The project also resurfaced the streets and installed new curbs and sidewalks. More than 60 new public parking spots have been added to help patrons visit downtown businesses more easily.
To further enhance and encourage new businesses in the downtown area, the Village recently purchased the properties at 6 and 12 W. Van Buren. Since the properties are zoned commercial, the Village will be pursuing options for commercial development including restaurant, retail, office and other similar uses consistent with development in downtown Oswego. With the holiday season quickly approaching, remember to support all of Oswego?s downtown businesses.

Grove & Collins intersection to reopen
The Kendall County Highway Department has advised that temporary detours will be in place on November 21 to accommodate paving at the intersection of Grove and Collins roads. On November 23, the intersection will reopen as a four-way stop until construction resumes in spring.

Help our Public Works crew by raking leaves onto the parkway, as close to the curb as possible. Don?t place leaves in the street! This creates hazardous conditions for drivers and clogs storm drains. Get tips and learn more. [ [link removed] ]
