President Biden said Thursday that the United States has “real differences with Beijing,” one day after he after he held an hours long meeting with President Xi Jinping of China at a moment of deep tension between the two countries, as the NYT reports.

Xi Meets U.S. Business Leaders

On his first trip to the U.S. in six years, Chinese leader Xi Jinping didn’t make a pitch to win back American businesses and investors. Instead, as the WSJ reports, at a Wednesday evening dinner with U.S. corporate chiefs and other guests, Xi sought to enlist American corporations’ help in easing bilateral tensions.

Israeli Hostage Found Dead

A 65-year-old Israeli woman who was kidnapped by Hamas militants on October 7 has been found dead near Gaza’s Al-Shifa hospital, the Israeli military said Thursday, as CNN reports.
