Celebrating the Heartbeat of Our Communities: Family Caregivers It's National Family Caregiver Month, and we're ready to celebrate the unsung heroes in our lives who make it all happen. Caregivers are the heartbeat of our communities, and showing caregiving the respect it deserves is what we're all about at NDWA.
We are laser-focused on creating a world where care is at the center of everything we do. Much like our incredible domestic workers, family caregivers work behind the scenes, providing essential support and keeping things running.
We're dreaming big about a care economy that recognizes, values, and supports the people who give so much of themselves. A world where ‘care’ isn't just a buzzword but a way of life, embedded into every part of our society.
Now, we want to hear from YOU!
Your caregiving stories are powerful tools that can be used to inspire and to push for change. So we want to hear them! You can share a story about your role as a caregiver, or you can honor a caregiver in your life. Let's celebrate the victories, acknowledge the challenges, and discuss the important role caregiving plays in our society. |

Protect Childcare for Families and Domestic Workers On September 30, the emergency pandemic funds that provided a lifeline for childcare providers and low-income families came to an end. On October 25th, the Biden administration submitted a funding request to Congress to provide $16 billion in childcare stabilization funding, in order to help keep child care providers afloat.
Since Congress has failed to act, 70,000 childcare centers are at risk of closure, leaving parents in impossible situations and more than 200,000 childcare workers at risk for losing their jobs.
Many domestic workers are deeply involved in the childcare sector, providing essential care to families across the country. With the looming threat of childcare center closures, these workers face job insecurity, putting them at risk of losing their means of supporting their own families.
Funding to address our country's childcare crisis is more urgent now than ever before. Tell your elected officials to prioritize and invest in childcare as they debate emergency funding and annual spending bills. |
Help Pass a New Jersey Domestic Workers Bill of Rights
The New Jersey Domestic Workers Bill of Rights is our chance to ensure dignity, respect, and protection for over 50,000 domestic workers in the state.
Our NDWA worker leaders and movement partners have been in the trenches for over a year, fighting tooth and nail to get this bill passed. Unfortunately, this important piece of legislation is facing opposition, and we need your help to push it through.
We need our New Jersey supporters to take two minutes to send an email to Senate President Scutari and Speaker Coughlin. Your support in these last few weeks of the state legislative session could be the game-changer we need to make sure New Jersey catches up with our neighboring states and establishes the rights and protections our domestic workers deserve.

We are so proud to be able to invest in artists who are reimagining the ways in which we see care portrayed on screen, and we hope this inspires writers to tell their care stories! |
