This week, Texas Values testified at the Texas State Board of Education for balanced textbooks that allow the opportunity for students to believe and learn the truth about the origin of life coming from God. However, several textbooks stated evolution as fact as opposed to classifying evolution as one theory of how the world began. The McGraw Hill Biology textbook was the most egregious because it spent several pages claiming as fact that humans evolved from monkeys and are a part of the great “ape family”.
On Tuesday, the Texas SBOE rejected a few of the publishers Texas Values and YOU asked the members to vote “no” on. The publishers rejected on Tuesday included references to various evolution theories and Big Bang theories presented as fact. Thankfully, the materials by the publisher “Houghton” removed the LGBT reference regarding a scientist’s sexuality! However, the process is not over! Publishers will have a chance to be considered in the final vote TOMORROW!
Publishers have been given the opportunity to make edits before the final vote on Friday. But we must make sure that ALL references and images of men evolving from monkeys are removed from the McGraw Hill Biology book. To see text and images, click here.
If the McGraw Hill Biology book does not make the necessary changes mentioned above, then members should vote “No” on this textbook!
Tell the Texas State Board of Education that they must vote “No” on McGraw Hill if they don’t correct all references to men evolving from monkeys.
