John,
This was a busy week in Harrisburg, and I wanted to give you a quick update on one of the most impactful bills we passed. Reproductive healthcare rights continue to be at the forefront of the national political conversation - and unfortunately that’s no different here in Pennsylvania.
As states across the country attack reproductive rights, including increasingly passing laws to ban travel and assisting someone’s travel to receive reproductive healthcare, I’m committed to ensuring yours continue to be protected.
That’s why, this week, I voted alongside my colleagues to pass protections that would prohibit Pennsylvania courts from cooperating with out-of-state civil and criminal cases involving reproductive healthcare services and prevent officials from other states from arresting individuals in Pennsylvania for other states’ draconian, unscientific, and dangerous abortion-related crimes.
As an emergency physician who has seen the consequences of not having reproductive healthcare, I will always stand up to protect your right to access those services here in Pennsylvania. Can you chip in today to stand with me? Sincerely, Rep. Arvind Venkat, MD |
