Hi,
The fight to overturn Trump’s policy and restore net neutrality is
officially in full swing.
According to a new report, tens of thousands of comments in favor of net
neutrality are already hitting the Federal Communications Commission (FCC)
from Demand Progress activists and our partners.^1 It’s clear that a free
and open internet remains widely popular with Americans.
But we can’t let up the energy now. Telecom lobbyists and their allies are
hitting DC in an all-out effort to water down or block the recently
proposed net neutrality rules. They’re even placing misleading,
sensationalist op-eds in local papers across the country.^2,^3
To ensure that the FCC passes a full, comprehensive restoration of net
neutrality, we need to take action now to voice our support.

Net neutrality is the basic idea that internet service providers like
Verizon and Cox must treat all websites, apps, and content equally. That
means ISPs shouldn’t be allowed to create fast lanes for their own
content, or throttle or block access to their competitors.^4
In 2015, the Obama FCC enacted net neutrality rules with the Open Internet
Order. But in 2017, the Trump FCC under Ajit Pai overturned the
regulations, putting corporate internet providers back in control of the
internet.^4
In September, the current FCC proposed a new rule to finally overturn Ajit
Pai’s decision and restore net neutrality protections.^5 This is the best
chance we’ve had at reversing the Trump administration’s disastrous policy
and winning a free and open internet.
We only have a few weeks left to file comments with the FCC in support of
net neutrality, so it’s vital that you take action right now.

Thanks for taking action,
