AFGE Family,
It’s hard to believe that we’re approaching the end of another year, but it’s a great time to look back at all we have accomplished as a union in 2023.
From pay increases and record organizing growth to legal victories that protected our members’ collective bargaining rights, 2023 was a banner year for AFGE and all the federal and D.C. government employees we represent.

Also inside this issue, we profile three hard-working military veterans from our AFGE family in honor of National Military Family Appreciation Month, look back at the recent history of past government shutdowns and their impact on the federal government, spotlight one of our many outstanding retired members who continue to give back to the federation, and we hear from President Kelley on how our success in avoiding a government shutdown plays into the larger growing support for labor unions among the public.
