In the new Congress, our first priority was to defend and strengthen American elections. That's why the first bill I helped pass in the House was the For the People Act, the most comprehensive package of anti-corruption reforms since Watergate.

It's been a year, and Mitch McConnell still hasn't taken up this critical legislation for a vote in the Senate. I'm counting on 1,000 grassroots supporters to join me in demanding McConnell to hold a vote; sign on now.

For far too long, the outsized influence of powerful interests has blocked meaningful progress on the issues that matter most. Whether it’s lowering drug prices, protecting our natural resources, or stopping gun violence, the dominance of big money in our political system is skewing our democracy and hurting our people.

I don't believe special interest groups should call the shots in Washington. Whether you come from a red state, a blue state, a big city, or a small town, it's voters that should matter. That's why I don't take a dime from corporate PACs to fund my campaign.

But that's not true of everyone in Washington. Mitch McConnell's desk has become a graveyard for important legislation that will strengthen our country -- including the For the People Act. We need to speak up loudly enough to make him listen.
